Bringing Marine Conservation to Life at Ocean Talks 2025

The Challenge:

Ocean Family Foundation wanted to create an engaging digital experience for attendees at Ocean Talks – one that would shine a spotlight on the incredible projects they fund, drive attendees to sign-up to their newsletter, and encourage people to connect with their mission on Instagram. The aim? To help the ocean, one tap at a time.

Our Solution:

We designed a beautifully fluid touch-screen experience that lets users explore Ocean Family Foundation. The journey is a snapshot of Ocean Family Foundation’s work that works in parallel to their website.

The journey begins with a simple ‘Tap to Start’ launching an intro video leading into a home screen, featuring buttons to explore ‘Who we are’, ‘What we do’, their lead partner North Sail and ‘Proud sponsor of Ocean Talks’.

From here, attendees could explore 4 of the 20 projects that Ocean Family Foundation have supported since 2018.

Each project page featured impactful visuals and bite-sized summaries – highlighting the name of the beneficiary and its mission, to illustrate the real-world impact Ocean Family Foundation has enabled.

At the end of each section, users were encouraged to sign up to Instagram via the QR code and stay connected with a clear CTA linking directly into a data capture form:

Designed for impact:

  • Data Capture: The app tracked all page views, section views, and dwell times-giving Ocean valuable insights into who was interested in what, which topics resonated most with their audience, and how to follow up or refine content for even better performance in the future.
  • Social Boost: QR code in the corner of the screen made it easy to follow Ocean Family Foundation on Instagram.
  • One User at a Time: The interactive was designed for single person use to allow for focused exploration.

Results:

The touch app delivered a stylish, intuitive experience that made learning about marine conservation feel personal, powerful, and immediate. It not only drew visitors into the stories behind Ocean Family Foundation’s work but also helped build an active, informed audience ready to take the next step—whether signing up to the newsletter or following them on Instagram.
